Celebrating UnFreedom.

Every year on 15 th of August our country celebrates its independence day.Today,i read everywhere,in newspaper,in magazines,Television, radio, networking sites, and big celebrities and some of my own friends discussing about freedom. Some giving lectures ,what  freedom means to them. The concept of Freedom is something that is talked about a lot lately in India and all over and liberty it pertains.

This topic  comes up only once a year. Why?Otherwise every one is so busy to even think about it.The kind of freedom that most of us make fun of as though  the idea itself is a crackpot theory.Yes, India may have gained its Independence, but are its people really free from the benevolent or sinister  motives of its wealthy neighbors? It may have been 63 years of independence on paper.India still needs to wake up and wise up,or if they were  lucky to attain grudging recognition and admission of their own.For those who live in Democratic Nations, they will often say, I live in a free country  and I am free. But are they really? The whole dilemma thus is obscured by assuming a purely formal concept of freedom, which leaves the real and  central problem of freedom untouched.I am talking about real freedom. The freedom to do whatever you want to do so long as it does not impose  on anyone else.It means that no matter what the action is that you take, there is not a big government watchdog that is sitting out there doing the  work for you.The problem cannot be solved formalistic-ally by examining what man is “free from.”

What the hell is this "Freedom" thing that everybody has been talking about for the past 400 years? What Freedom? War -- Guns, tanks, chemical  weapons, killing, devastation, inhumanity. Is this freedom?I bet a lot or most of these wars and mass murders have nothing to do with fascism or  socialism.Freedom means having the right to live as one chooses – and that right is earned because the choices one makes do not disrespect the  choices of others, which may be different than ours.Don’t tell me our soldiers are dying in India border to keep us free. We are more imprisoned  now than we ever have been – because our soldiers are dying there. And when will we realise that they are also part of our nation. We have freely  built an arsenal to surround ourselves with such thoughts.Just look at the condition of Jamaica or Afghanistan.Every weapon man could imagine –  closing the doors on our freedoms. War is the total loss of freedom. We are fighting a war within ourselves and war between countries.More and  more reports reflect a country that is awash with corruption and criminality.People who’d portray themselves as progressive and broad minded  outside, are just the opposite at home.it’s not exactly how it seems on the flip side.If you are surrounded by laws and confined and constricted in  your movement are you really free?We are still fighting with the concept "Freedom".How ironic that we Indian's still haven't learned that lesson after  63 years later! We are growing more and more weaker in our beliefs and practices. We are still slaves to our narrow minded thoughts.Freedom word suddenly makes a person realise only on a independence day. Why?

Its always been a debate on this issue.Independent India has witnessed a considerable amount of violence and hate crimes motivated by caste. It  still remains deeply entrenched in Hindu culture and is still widespread throughout our country, especially in rural parts of India. And being a middle  class today does not carry the financial security that it once carried in the 1950s and 1960s.Why not put  these words into action.Recognize poverty as a form of  unfreedom.Buddhism does not prevent anyone from learning the teachings of other religions.According to the Buddha, religion should be left to one's own free choice. Religion is not a law, but a disciplinary code which should be  followed with understanding. And don't forget the mandal commission.Where under Indian law members of lower castes known as Other Backward  Classes (OBC) and Scheduled Castes and Tribes were given exclusive access to a certain portion of government jobs and slots in public  universities. The government is dividing people on the basis of castes for political advantages. Not everyone from the so-called upper classes are rich,  and not all from so called lower classes are poor.Recognize poverty as a form of unfreedom.Money provides freedom, and to  lack money is to lack freedom. So why still follow them? Why not banish the so called caste system for forever?

But the story does not end there; A million dollar question which cannot be answered instantly.Just imagine!Keeping pace with the fast moving  world, the tale of woman's freedom has taken a different turn.Is it a blessing or blemish. As we move further away from the time and age.As written  in Bible: - "But I say unto you that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." Here is  one simple scenario.Public displays of female bodies in magazines like Vogue ,Cosmopolitan or Maxim or be it a  swimsuit calendar ,they are considered artistic developments.
Men gorge at the lustfully as public ornaments. On the other hand a Muslim lady  is fully covered from head to toe and does not draw any male attention.Muslim women cant even voice their voices about the discomfort they face wearing this garment in hot weather's.But I sometimes wish people did away with all this thinking and that women  are weak and lesser capable than men.Sometimes it makes me wonder that I want freedom from such notions floating around with people. What  else and what not? All in the name of freedom!Freedom to women!Freedom to whom and from what?Is it really being practiced?Talk about  eliminating social security and you will see fainting spells nationwide.

Fast forward to said debate.Man has not the freedom even to think freely. He has made boundaries around it.Whenever he realizes that he cannot  find satisfaction through his own religion, his own thoughts to which he belongs, which cannot provide him with satisfactory answers to certain  questions, he has no liberty to give it up and to accept another which appeals to him.God has always supported the freedom and progress of  mankind. It just remains a name.Freedom is insane and extreme. And we've done nothing about it.Ten years later we will still be asking this  question. And still debates and explanations will go on Freedom.Broadly defined, human security encompasses freedom of speech, freedom from fear, freedom from want and freedom to live in dignity. What is freedom actually? What have you done for freedom today? So many definitions of freedom.

Personally I think this whole topic is poisonous ,if not in content then in tone. And most important, freedom takes a level of personal responsibility  that most human race are not willing to take, because they are not confident that they can survive in a world where they have to be responsible for  their own actions and live with the consequences of them.It can be very overwhelming. This is a genuine clash of liberties.Einstein and even Darwin  have told us is that the universe can be a sort of mindless vacuum. The true test of freedom is not how we treat those who agree with us, but how  we treat those with whom we differ.Let's celebrate for not able to act and speak at will.Or let us celebrate the UnFreedom Day just like South Africa.

I can do examples like this all day long. And I encourage others to add more examples to the comments this whole talk.I may be wrong and i may  be write in some views.I could not help noticing the superficiality of everyone's thoughts on ideology. As far the govt parasites are lurching our nation will always be diseased. To this problem, indeed, there is no solution, and very likely there will never  be any solutions. The mystery, the secret truth of desire, lies within. Why waste time thinking over it.To this day freedom is still unexplained. How sad is that?Even after writing so much i still  do not entertain the thesis of our unfreedom thinking.I know that this statement is going to piss a lot of people off, but so be it. It is what I  believe. This is my liberty of speech. My freedom to speak out my thoughts. This may explain why i can’t tell when my own ideology becomes  fanaticism. Only thing i understand is Freedom is expensive.Let us not just talk...talk...and lot more talk. But let us just respect each other, be fair,  just and kind to another and live in peace, harmony and mutual goodwill.

As Paul McCartney's Lyrics say ,let us all follow that path...

"This Is My Right,Right Given By God
To Live A Free Life,To live in freedom".

Street talk!

Gray Life on the street  More people in our country lack of homes today. They live under the flyovers, under old broken bridges, inside plumbing pipeline, near railway stations, road dividers, pavements - they are everywhere.Every single day.We all pass them by uncaringly. Homelessness is about more than just poverty. And on bone chilling winters s ome arere visibly distressed and freezing, barely able to feel their hands...

A nostalgic trip to memory lane.

Just some time ago i got in  touch with many of my old school pals through social networking site Facebook. Thanks to Technology which has brought us all closer.Connecting with long-lost friends is like checking out those class  group photo session.Whether its Facebook , Twitter or any medium of social networking,it helped me to connect with good old high school,my teachers, principal and college friends who I had not  seen or heard from in decades. Its been a topsy turvy life for me all along. But suddenly i was  filled with life meeting them though virtually.Which later on became possible in practical too.Felt those butterflies fluttering in my stomach in excitement of hearing them.Really the moment is so nostalgic & lovely to be able to know & see how gracefully we have all aged and how  wonderful they all are doing!I found myself in the muddle of my long lost friends. It was as if some  sort of telepathic connection that me and some of my old...

Fishing for a forbidden fruit called humanism.

In future we can see kids fishing for humanism. Last week ,on a Tuesday night as usual I sat down to check my mails, about what sort of links people are posting and the news of the day on in social networking sites as Twitter,Facebook ,Word-press & Blogger like where peoples heads are at, what the latest fuzz to follow and figure out.So we all know that word of mouth is the strongest form of marketing, whether or not you can call it marketing or just the way we interact with one another, and we see evidence of this all the time.Okay, well it’s kind of freaky and interesting sometimes.Whatever,I saw a lot of people & even Dalai Lama fussing & tweeting around about Human Values. For so hundred's of years now, Science, Technology, & Human Values has provided the forum for cutting-edge research and debate in this dynamic and important field. We owe much to the thinkers of ancient traditions, the scientific and social reformers from the Renaissance forward, and those of...
